Deaf Havana are a rock band from the U.K - initially hailing from East Anglia and at first turning to music for a lack of anything else to do in that rather empty part of the world! Now, after more than 10 years together and with various line-up changes, Deaf Havana are a 5 piece band comprising of James Veck-Gilodi (Vocals/Guitar), Matthew Veck-Gilodi (Guitar), Lee Wilson (Bass Guitar), Max Britton (Keyboards) and Tom Ogden (Drums).
Having released 4 full length albums, including two that charted in the U.K top 10 (2013’s Old Souls and 2017’s All These Countless Nights) they have showcased a sound that is constantly evolving and expanding with each subsequent release. Growing softer in places yet heavier in others, whilst always having a constant through the emotive and deeply personal lyrics and vocal stylings of James Veck-Gilodi.
''As soon as I picked up the Chapman I fell in love with how it plays. All the tiny details that I end up changing on my other guitars have already been thought about, for instance it comes with strap locks as stock, a non lacquered neck and locking machine heads. This also translates when it’s plugged in to an amp, the controls are very delicate and a beautiful clean tone can be achieved by simply turning down the volume, which is perfect for me as I only use one channel. It also responds very well to picking strength and the spread of the strings is perfectly clear when chords are rung out. I think more people just need to get these guitars in their hands to realise how amazing they really are.'' James Veck-Gilodi
